The news in January was dominated by the outbreak of the Corona virus in China. This was a false start to the year of the rat. All four indices in which the Active Leverage funds invest ended up in red, with only the Nikkei Index falling by less than one percent.
The HSCEI Index in Hong Kong fell by 6.8% in euro, while domestic Chinese exchanges remained closed during the last week of January. It is not yet clear what effect the virus will have on the Chinese economy.
